Fathers Day/1st Anniversary

June 20th was not only Drew's 1st Father's Day, but was also our 1st Anniversary! Drew got a double whammy of a great day : )

We met up with Grandma Jack, Auntie Sarah and Uncle Matt for a breakfast bite at the new Eggtc. off of Midland and Renner. The service was awful. Just not the same experience as the one on the Plaza. However, the food was delicious as always. Yum Yum in our Tums.

We then had a relaxing couple of hours watching the World Cup (Drew's fave thing to do right now, besides love on his family), exchanging gifts/cards, and just having some good family time with Jonah-- including a photo shoot with father and son (pics below).

Drew wrote the sweetest card and got Jonah and I a play gym. I just really wanted Drew to buy something for Jonah, because I really don't need anything. Drew did surprise me with flowers a couple of days before. Purple flowers, my favorite color!

Jonah and I got Daddy some photos of him and put a couple in a nice frame for Daddy's desk at work. We figured that one can't go wrong with the gift of snap shots of a beautiful baby boy : )

For our anniversary we dropped Jonah off at Grandma Jacks and headed to the Legends to do some light shopping, go to a movie, and eat sushi at Stix. We ended up shopping and nixing the movie. It was just nice to talk and enjoy each other's company. Stix was good as always. I have been really craving a spicy tuna roll!

It was a great day had by all!

Jonah really is RAD LIKE DAD : ) I love, love, LOVE my boys!!

Jonah was mesmerized by the sea horse and octopus rattles. With the help of his daddy, he began to swat at them. YAY JONAH!!! The play gym also includes a beach ball for him to kick at. We had to help him kick it-- his legs just aren't long enough yet. In time, my little buddy boy, in time : )

Not sure if I need to write much, I believe the pictures say it all : ) TOO FREAKING CUTE!!!

Jonah has been giving us lots of smiles (even if its not purposeful-- we still love it!) and he even gave his mommy an unexpected fist bump this morning. Gotta love that!

Little Dude has gotten a lot bigger over the week. He can finally fit into some of his 3 month clothing!!! This is very exciting to me, because he has so many cute little outfits that he is very close to being able to wear. Jonah is going to be one stylish little babe : )

Today, we will be going to/hosting my sister's wedding shower : ) As cheesy as it may sound, I am over joyous for her! I have always, always, ALWAYS looked up to her and I know she will be a fantastic wife. She makes Chris a lucky man... and Chris has made my sister happier than she has ever been! I am looking forward to being her Matron of Honor, Drew is looking forward to being an Usher, and I know that Jonah is looking forward to being their Ring Bearer. It will be a family affair : )

I just can't seem to get enough of him. God has truly blessed us with JoJo. He is such a calm, easy-going baby and lets us have fun with him. I can only imagine the fun we are going to have as he continues to grow : )

Jonah's First Walk

Yesterday was so gorgeous, we could not wait to get Jonah outside to take his first walk. It was a short one (mom is still sore), but a walk none the less. I think he enjoyed it. He slept the whole time and if he's anything like his mother, sleep equals happiness!

Jonah's Nursery Preview -- Sorry Folks, Not there Yet

With our Little Jojo just around the corner (hopefully any day now) we are getting oh so close to finish out the nursery. It has been a work in progress since day one and we are now in the Feng Shui stages. To satisfy Mommy's everyday needs, the green light has been given to do what it takes in the time it takes her. So, without further ado, I present to you some of the elements of Jonah's Room.

Matthew 6:33-34

This was the verse during Sunday's sermon. How fitting to what we found after we came home from church. A water pipe burst between our apartment (8th floor) and the 9th floor apartment above. The end result was a giant hole, fallen ceiling, possible damage to appliances, a rug ruined, dirtied dishes, spoiled food, etc., etc.

Yet God is good, as hard as it is, I am not worried about tomorrow. How many emails to sort through, projects that need to be hurried to QC, or even if going to work tomorrow is possible. I will not worry that the damages to our things will more than likely be less than the $500 deductible for our insurance. The Lord has already provided us with a place to stay for the week (my parents) and possibly being able to move early due to the inconvenience and unlivable circumstances.

Today's troubles will be tomorrow's 'yup, that was a bad day.'

I promise we don't intentionally forget to post. I promise we do do stuff that is note worthy of posting about. I promise we do intend to remember to post.

We did go to Indianapolis, IN. My sister Sarah, brother-in-law Matt and their herd of dogs moved there early January. We took a short trip with the family a few weekends ago. Seems like a neat town. I'm excited that we have another place to take Jonah to. He will love Uncle Matt and Aunt Sarah and their wonderful puppies.

We spent the majority of the weekend tooling around the town. They wanted to show us the different areas, suburbs, etc., that they liked. Despite the latitudinal and longitudinal difference, it is much like Kansas City. Widespread. Mostly flat. Some smaller urban areas. A lot of suburbs. I really dug the downtown area. It had a lot more to offer than Kansas City. A big mall (if you like that thing). A lot of local restaurants (steakhouses are huge). We had the best Shrimp Cocktail (with Four Kinds of Horseradish) from Harry and Izzy's. Come on! It burns your nose hairs it's so good. The only downfall was the mysterious long hair that was in my water and the mysterious shorter, curlier hair I found in my burger (both found at the same restaurant). Guess which part of the body the short one was from?

So, despite my sister feeling bad she thought we weren't entertained, I was entertained with the sights, sounds, and of course food (less hair of course). I personally enjoyed just seeing their new home. I enjoyed seeing how the city is laid out and looking forward to coming back already familiar with it.

We were blessed this weekend to have the Harris' (Seattle based and Wichita based) come into KC for some overdue, married couple time. In fact, this was the first time the 6 of us have been together all married. Our brief time was a reminder of how much we dearly miss them all and how we want them all to move to Kansas City. :)

A few friendly rounds of Apples to Apples and a game of Scrabble later, we went to sleep way past our bedtime. For me it was a great time to catch up, see what they are up to and how they are currently living life. That being said, as far as we are from each other and lack of staying in constant touch by all parties, it's like things have never really changed. Well, minus the wives, babies, marathons, etc., our personalities still click like we were in college. FFL.

The two pregnant women had to pose for some shots. How many times will they both be pregnant at the same time?

this is what i do a lot. photo's with the iPhone. it's amazing how you can capture certain, everyday things and they can be beautiful. like putting pants on your 1 year old. buying donuts. going to a car show in a small town.

MMMMMM.... Polyps

Well-- as most of you have seen from my facebook stats, my health has been a recent concern. With swollen lymph nodes and sinus problems I went in for a CT-Scan of my sinuses. The scan showed a nasal polyp and some MAJOR immflamation throughout my sinus cavaties. This suggests a MAJOR infection my body has been fighting for some time now. Hence the swollen lymph nodes. I am just so relieved to find some answers! I will now be making an appointment with an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) doctor for treatment!

I was going to post a picture of a polyp just so this post would have a picture attached to it-- but the image made me gag! So, I will be nice and spare you.

We are here, this is where we are!

Time is flying by. I have had quite the last few months! Married my wonderful beautiful Sallee Gaelle. My best friend! We moved back down to the Plaza, where so many memories have been made. We’ve had a complete shift in life style. I have been waking up nearly every morning at 5:00, spending time with God, studying and reading. It has been extremely fruitful and is certainly providing me the foundation of my new life as a husband and eventually a father.

It is very exciting, very amazing! We have been blessed with some amazing mentors that we look forward to spending more time with and gather knowledge and inspiration. We found a great church in which we feel at home and have been consistently attending to for the last few months. Perception Funding is in full force and are so excited for what it will do for the world. SG and I are so glad that Klee asked us to be a part of such an amazing venture.

We hope that we will be able to use this blog to share with you all what things we are doing. Be prepared to look at a lot of pictures, because, we love to take them.
